Congenital Heart Defects cause one or more portions of the heart to develop abnormally. Absent, narrow or leaky heart valves and blood vessels, holes in the walls between chambers, transposed arteries and under-development or total absence of one or more components are all possible.

* Occurs in 8 of every 1,000 live births
* 32,000 babies with CHD every year in the U.S. alone
* Atleast 35 distinct forms recognized
* Mortality from CHD is decreasing
* But CHD incidence has not declined

I was inspired and was encourage and not losing hope by the story of Trevor. I’m a father of a 6 months old baby who has the same heart defect of Trevor, his heart defect is truncus arteriosus type IV, lately discovered after 2 months when he was diagnosed to pneumonia and difficulities in breathing and confined for 15 days in ICU and we almost lost him twice in the hospital, but miraculously he fight to survive, he is truly a survivor, after his confinement the doctor recommends heart surgery as soon as possible, unluckily he’s not operated yet due to financial problems which as a parents dont have enough resources to send him for operation. It’s like every month he will be sent to Hospital due to his weak immune system.

In our country the Philippines it cost us a lot the operation probably around half a million in peso. It’s why as parents who dont have resources we are trying to reach any international organizations until now we are parents who keep searching and hoping someday the Lord Jesus will use someone to help us save our baby. One of his doctor said that hope we can find a help somewhere a country with best doctors who will help since his disease is a rare type and no gurantee if he will be operated he will leave and be with us. Please include us in your prayers and someday will find one for our baby’s heart surgery. We appreciate much also if your group can recommend one for a charity.

God bless you Trevor and your family. May your mission to help little babies will continue to grow and inspire more parents and children.

I am a father of a four year old son who was born with a CHD. I am in the midst of collecting email addresses of other parents of children with congenital heart defects. The purpose is to send out a professional survey to these parents via email. The survey will ask questions about their hospital stay, experience, etc.

I am hoping that you could forward my email ([email protected]) to anyone who may be interested in participating. They can simply email me to let me know of their interest. The survey will be sent out in about a month.

Thank you for any help that you can give me.
